AZ-305 validates the infrastructure and governance foundation that every AI solution depends on. AI workloads need networking (private endpoints, VNet), storage (ADLS Gen2), identity (Entra ID, managed identities), and governance (Azure Policy) — all AZ-305 domains, framed by the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework.

  2. Design, don't memorize. AZ-305 is a design exam — practice choosing services against requirements and constraints, then justify the trade-off (Well-Architected pillars).
  3. Active recall + spacing. After each module, reconstruct the decision tree from memory; revisit across days (Dunlosky et al., 2013).
  4. Whiteboard case studies. Draw reference architectures for identity, storage, BC/DR, and networking scenarios.
