AI Solution Architect — Responsible AI
Intensive 26-week program (~9 hours/week) to position yourself as an AI Solution Architect focused on Responsible AI: taking AI solutions from pilot to production with solid architecture, governance, measurable business adoption, and publishable technical evidence.
This is one of three plans on the site. To avoid confusion:
- 🛡️ AI Security Professional (9 months) — vendor-neutral re-employment in AI/security (free first, any platform).
- 🧠 Executive AI Leadership Plan — executive AI leadership.
- 🏗️ This plan — a technical AI Solution Architect + Responsible AI path, Microsoft-first (AI-103, AZ-305, SC-500), focused on building enterprise AI architecture and governance.
Target profile
- Experience in IT management and operations
- Background in cybersecurity and digital forensics
- Functional programming foundation (Python, APIs, automation)
- Need to reposition into high-impact AI roles
Professional thesis
"I take AI solutions from pilot to production, with architecture, governance, and measurable business adoption."
v4 principles
- Proof over study: every block ends with public evidence (repo, benchmark, or write-up).
- Cert + project coupled: no certification stands alone.
- GA-first: use current paths and credentials from the 2026 portfolio.
- Disciplined sequencing: 1 certification thread + 1 project thread + 1 networking thread per week.
Plan structure
| Phase | Weeks | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 1-4 | Foundations + AI-103 + positioning |
| Phase 2 | 5-12 | Technical portfolio (RAG, agents, evaluation) |
| Phase 3 | 13-16 | Enterprise architecture + security (AZ-305 + SC-500) |
| Phase 4 | 17-21 | Value realization + public content + networking |
| Phase 5 | 22-26 | Interviews, executive role-play, and application pipeline |
| Phase 6 | Parallel | Career commercial operation (referrals, outreach, follow-up) |
Certifications (current in 2026)
- AI-103 - Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate (critical priority; replaces AI-102, which retires on Jun 30, 2026)
- AZ-305 - Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions)
- SC-500 - Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate (verify beta/GA status before scheduling the exam)
- GitHub Copilot (GH-300) (quick win)
- AI-200 - Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate (optional, depending on active interview loops)
The entire Microsoft AI certification portfolio is rotating in 2026 (betas and replacements). To keep this plan reliable:
- 📚 Sources and Verification v4 — every certification, framework, and resource linked to its official primary source.
- 🧭 Methodology and Best Practices v4 — why the plan uses "proof over study," 70-20-10, and a "hiring-ready" capstone rubric.
- 🎯 Competencies + External Benchmark — the 10 role competencies compared with Azure Well-Architected for AI, AWS, Google Cloud, Chip Huyen, and DeepLearning.AI, with self-assessment and a multi-platform cross-walk.
Always verify status (beta/GA) and skills measured on the official page before scheduling an exam.
Minimum plan deliverables
- 3 strong technical repos (evaluated RAG, tri-platform agent comparison, fine-tuning vs. RAG benchmark)
- 3-5 public pieces (architecture, evaluation, security, business value)
- 1 one-pager for secure enterprise AI deployment
- 1 reusable value realization framework with KPI tree
Control checkpoints
| Target date | Gate |
|---|---|
| Week 4 | AI-103 completed + quantified CV + outreach started |
| Week 12 | 3 public projects with reproducible evaluation |
| Week 16 | AZ-305 + strong progress in enterprise AI security |
| Week 21 | 3 technical publications + active networking pipeline |
| Week 26 | Interview loops underway and story package ready |
Operational resources:
Continuous update rule
Before each certification or architecture sprint:
- Verify exam status, skills measured, and practice assessment availability on Microsoft Learn.
- If the portfolio changes, update the plan first and study afterward.
Implementation note
This overview and the learning plan phases are already aligned to the v4 path, with operational checkpoints and an evidence template for weekly execution.
Versioned plan to preserve traceability of market changes, certification portfolio changes, and real interview demand.
